:( i blame the italian postal service.

Or the italian who packed it :P

With jewel cases, as long as they have been sent in jiffy bags you can't blame anyone really. I receive broken jewel case from psyshop - the broken part is the CD spindle and this happens because of the pressure on the pack for sure.

What's broken with your copy ? A crack on front/back, the hinge or the teeth ?
posted 11 months ago. ( permalink | report )
two serious cracks on the back. used some sellotape to fix it.
posted 11 months ago. ( permalink | report )
The green cases aren't solid, anyone noticed ? In fact it's lighter than the regular jewel case CD. My guess is that coloured jewel cases are hardly ever made in the "solid" plastic clear cases are made of.

Ooze wrote:
Sorry to hear that :(
#25 + #73. Mine arrived safely although jiffy bags do scare me. Bubble wrap over the spindle and round the CD, then box it. It's the only reliable, although more expensive method of posting a jewel case.

I see what you mean. It's probably something to do with the colouring making the plastic more brittle perhaps.

Still awaiting the arrival of my copies. I'll be very surprised if they show up unscathed - Italy to Seattle has got to be a rough trip for poor Crop Circles. :(

hello everyone, this is something i also wrote on psynews:

The first stash of packs sent were sent in bubbled bags without extra bubbles as i never had troubles of broken cases and i had shipped before quite some times.

But after i received the very first complaint about a broken case i immediately went to search for this special bubble paper to add extra protection to the cds.

I also received, though, reports of people receiving the cd without any crack at all (from the stash of non extra bubbles).

So far i had 4 cases on 20 packs (this was the first stash of sends). Yours, inexpressible, would be the fifth.

Whoever encounters such a problem should report to me and, even if is really the postal service to blame, i am offering some solutions to the problem.

I have some extra cases (really few though) and i am sending these to who has cases of terrible breaks (mars, who is the guy who helped me most, received the pack like if someone were to play football with it, completely broken cases, and i already shipped him replacements).

I do charge shipping costs though as I can't really be responsible for the postal service, but I think is a fair option.

I do have still 5 cases available but i am more than happy to try to help you find a replacement case for your copy and will reprint your number too (this free of charge of course).

I won't print a different number obviously (someone asked me if he could change his...) but i will do all in my power to make you all 100% satisfied.

The only main problem is that the producers of these cases are located in Denmark and are selling, apparently, only huge quantities (in fact i had to buy 120 packs with 5 cases each, but in every pack of 5 there was only one green and other 4 were of other colors).

But there may be some shops, maybe in denmark, selling just a pack or two, i will investigate this too :)

As for the solidity, believe me, these were the best... apparently every producer in china (they are all made there) is now "saving on plastic" and pressing much more delicate cases in terms of weight. I noticed this also with a retail new cd.

I have now contacts with a producer in Taiwan who is willing to produce for me small quantities of colored cases with rock solidity (originally i wanted to have a green acid fluo case, but was impossible to find on the market of today).

So eventually for future releases ;)

Happy new year everyone!!

....in the time i am waiting for the best release in 2008 (Tetrahedron off course:-)

i am lost in this one:

ETNICA - Alien Protein

this release is just wonderful - one flow ... really trancy & spacy ... about the releases from the best act of this wonderful time: they cannot be compared to each other - each of them has his own history (history of the period it was released and the experience which each listener had at these moments).

... so then i guess that DAT Records will have some really phatttt & wonderful tracks for some future releases.

This release is just one trip over one hour - lost in space!

...yes :-)) some people think that a proper WAV or a simple mp3 is the same like goooood old fashioned vinyl .... that's why people mark it in their collection.

i don't have the real vinyl - only a proper (menas a vinyl ripped) AIFF (mac user:-).

sometimes you cannot go on this statistics ... because some members use this function just for marking their collection.
