Just back from my few days and I found a few, details are slightly sketchy on some, but I did get a flyer for one:

Music Antiquariat
Národní 25, Palác Metro, 1st Floor
110 00 Praha 1
Tel: 00420 - 221 085 268

new and used CDs, LPs, posters - 1000s of titles on vinyl and CD - rock, blues, country, jazz, rock n' roll, soundtracks, disco, pop, hard and heavy, folk, folklore, spoken word, rare pressings, czech music and classical.

I found two more in alley-ways in the Old Town, one in Karlova (25) and one, I think, on Perlova (upstairs from an art gallery, half a clothes store and half a record shop). The former had a totally random selection of old vinyl (and lots of CDs I ignored), lots of 80s synthpop stuff, some EBM and new wave. The second one had some nice US punk vinyl (Black Flag, Bad Religion) and some bits and bods of techno, house, dnb, etc.

There's another shop just off the Old Town end of Wenceslas Square, mainly CDs but a small section of techno/urban/house vinyl (most I didn't recognise).

Finally, another completely random second hand store (divided between Czech, International and Classical) on Vitezna (over the river beside the Funicular) and there was one beside our hotel on Korunni, off Namesti Miru, but it was always closed.

Seeking for techno I have visited 4 of listed last week:

TSP desky (bought 2 old and interesting LPs, more part of vinyl is about jungle & raggie)
Twilight Zone (have bought a lot, really very friendly staff helped me to review my Discogs Wantslist and sold me some brilliant relicts I have needed a lot)
KATR (excellent indi-shop with a lot of punk and cyberpunk, have bought some of Tresor .30 series and classic Tresor vinyl)
DiscoDuck (the most "professional", bought a lot of techno classics and modern techno).

To visit all 4 I have spent a half of a day: TSP, KATR and DiscoDuck is very close to each other but Twilight is 25-30 minutes walks from, too.

Thanks a lot for topic creators!

So they are actual.

There are two more shops in Prague, or maybe the one shop you call "KATR" is actually Maximum Underground, as it has the same adress. The clothing shop and the record shop share the same shop ;-) www.maximum.cz

MAXIMUM UNDERGROUND - Prague
Jilska 22, 1st floor
Praha 1

Open:

Sunday 13 - 19

The other shop is new and kind of has everything.

In the centre of Prague there are
Disco Duck, TSP and Maximum Underground and

Musicland - its in the lower end of Václavské Náměstí (the big square with horse statue and museum on one end) 40 m in the direction to Národní Třída - they are selling mainly CDs but they have about 4-5 crates of records.. from hiphop to techno.. 100 m from there also on lower end of Václavské náměstí in the first building left when looking up the square, you have a big shop with media called Bonton Land, they are selling also some records - some classic rock represses, some house some acid jazz and something more, but they have just few.. On Národní třída (200 m from there) across the croosroad front of tesco, there is a "Music Antiquariat" - its a shop which is selling just old records -- Jazz, Classics, Rarities, Rock, Pop...well everything.. you can dig there some realy good records its worth visit.. Same sort of shop is on Krakovská street (thats about 500 m from there, near the upper end of the big square) - it is called CD bazar but they have tons of records there..

Skvělý, dík!

Here's a nice one to add:

I know some more second hand stores (i.e. antikvariáty), mostly those selling old Czech records. I have to look up the addresses though.

cheers
