Copenhagen, Denmark

Updated as per 18'th of September, 2009. Any Danes, please update where necessary. The info I have here and visits to stores was made a lot simpler initially courtesy of this kind post by Rooger - http://www.discogs.com/forums/...pic_id=93988#1231502
I am posting this on the fly from my hotel (while the info is fresh in my mind), so hope to clean it up when I am home.

Accord - Website

Various locations across Copenhagen - see website

I found the store at Vestergade 37 easily and was impressed by the volume of vinyl upstairs. Everything was sealed, but I'm not sure if it was all unplayed. Condition of the items I bought was excellent. Prices were reasonable. The range for electronic and dance was limited, but worth the visit. I found about a dozen items. Other Genres are well covered as there are 10s of thousands of records to choose from.

I visited the store at Norrebrogade 90 and as advised it was closed for renovation. But next door was a charity store with boxes of vinyl (many from accord) and selected some very cheap (10Krona) gems.

A bit of a way out of the city center, but easy enough to walk to. Second hand. A big selection of most music on vinyl and CDs too. Condition of the items on sale is excellent and reasonably well organised. Plenty of Hip Hop, Dance and electronic litters the rooms in neat stacks on the floor. Picked up 20+ pieces of quality vinyl. R&S, Tresor, DJAX-UP-BEATS, Trax, some KLF, Meat Beat Manifesto and other treasures here. Prices are not super cheap, but fair. Staff are very helpful and as with everywhere in this city, they speak English well. Upon purchasing, I was shown some piles of records not yet on the shelves and scored a good discount on the total purchase. Definitly worth a special trip to find this store when in Copenhagen.

Mint Records is a Copenhagen, Denmark based recordstore, where you can buy, sell, and swop LP's, Singles, CD's, DVD's, games (PC, PS1,2,3, Xbox, and more), Musicmagazines and recordplayers.
We don't focus on any genres more than others, and our store is big enough to have a large selection of all kinds of music. We always have at least 10.000 CD's and just as many vinyls on stock, and about a 2500 movie titles and 500 different games.

We also have outersleeves for LP's and Singles, innersleeves, CD jewelcases, Recordcleaner and pickup cleaner.

We have a large selection of musicmagazines, used and new. Kerang, Rolling Stone, Empire, Sound On Sound and many more. Besides we have some music books.

In the basement we are running a sale with prices dropping each week. After four weeks we start all over with a lot of new CD's. From time to time we add an extra week with even lower prices. Please see "Udsalg" in the menu to se witch week we are in present.

Only vinyl. All genres but mainly indie. Got a decent cellar for diggin'.
Route 66 also releases minor danish acts on their own label.

The following stores have folded doors recently:

Ameoba in Hyskenstræde
Circles on Gammel Kongevej
GUF – all stores due to bankruptcy

@ Bissia, both Second Beat and Beat Pop have closed since then, but both Circles and Route 66 are still alive and kicking.

Circles: Gl. Kongevej 39 (five minutes from central station). Open from 12-18 (on fridays often 'till around 21).
Mainly vinyl. Got a variety of different stuff - hip-hop, reggea, dub, jazz etc. but mainly electronica and rock. Very fair prices, especially compared to Soundstation further down the street.
My favorite place to shop, and the owner Lars is always good for a cup of coffee and is a veritable music-lexica.

Route 66: Fælledvej 3 (take the train to nørreport and then either by bus 5A or ten minutes walk).
Open from 12-18 (Sat. 11-16).
Only vinyl. All genres but mainly indie. Got a decent cellar for diggin'. Same price-level as Circles and mainly the same people. Route 66 also releases minor danish acts on their own label. My second choice for vinly-shopping in cph.

If you need any other info feel free to write.

Sorry - I mistook Beat Pop for another shop. Beat Pop still exists. It's located at Gothersgade 58 right beside Kgs. Have (Kings Gardens). Open 10-18 monday-thursday (and some strange opening hours friday + saturday).
Vinyl + CD. Only used stuff. Almost exclusively rock and a little bit of jazz. The store is divided in two with cheap (& lousy) records to the right, and the good stuff on the left.
Fair prices.

Probably Scandinavias largest selection of dub, reggea & ska. Don't know to much about it, but really good reputation.

The before mentioned Sound Station is worth a visit if only to check the amount of vinyl they have it's quite a beautiful sight but prices are a little high (for me that is) Super Sounds were having a big sale there with heaps of vinyl cheap about 2 months ago.
