I wonder if this is a valid release.

(turn your volume down BEFORE you click that youtube link)

RSG
2.1 Video: Only video items that have audio as the main focus are allowed, where "audio" is either one or more complete studio recordings, one or more complete live performances. If the item still makes sense with the picture turned off, it will probably be acceptable.

Hmmm, this "release" doesn't make any sense to me with or without picture turned off, but probably I'm just too old for this.
But hey, I think it's valid after all, it seems to me this is the nature of Noise and it's just backed up by some video installations, so ok.

What about this:

- user edits release
- 2 other users point out an error
- user does not react for 3 months
- I have the release, so I go and correct the error
- first user re-appears, calls it "micky-mouse-bullshit" and changes it back

http://www.discogs.com/history?release=551288

I guess that's a good laugh for the "micky-mouse", but an EI for the edit, right?

this was submitted as unique release, but it's not, as it is jsut a repress with identical artwork and from the same masters. you can't tell it apart from the earlier pressings.

Does the main artist not seem like a collaboration name not separated into each artist? Club Intim whatever with the Dr Fummel Orchestra? Something like that?

Ah, now I get your point! It looks more to me like a totally made-up spoof name for studio musicians. Most certainly these are not artists that record under these monikers separately.

Please help me with voting. My mistake was that I did a mass update (correction), before discussed it in forum. And result was conflict with some user. So can someone consider my arguments and help me with voting.

The point is that I added and changed ANV for Brainstorm (originally named Prāta Vētra). "Brainstorm" is English translation of Prāta Vētra (Brain=Prāta, Storm=Vētra).
I decided to change Prāta Vētra as main artist (and Brainstorm as ANV) because of that they have used Latvian version of name for more releases and 11 years before they started to use Brainstorm.
And the point from guidelines:
Artist Name Variation (ANV)
> 3. The ANV should link to the most relevant version of the Artists Name.

Example from database:
The same situation with no problems is Gebrüder Grimm (The Grimm Brothers) where the main artist name is in original language.

The reason in conflict are that some users think that the main artist must be the first added. (But it would be incorrect if RHCP wold be added before Red Hot Chili Peppers).

I hope I'm not violating the Guidelines now.

Thanks in advance

I've had a look at your submissions and you need to correct a few things, please see my comments. Most importantly you need to learn how to enter more formats in one line, see the link I supplied.

And by the way, you're asking for votes in the wrong thread, here's where you should ask for votes on your own submissions:

I remember this issue being discussed elsewhere just recently: "Prāta Vētra" apparently means literally "brainstorm" in Latvian.

Guidelines
1. Artist Name Variations (ANV's) should be used for variations in an artist name such as changes to nicknames, language based differences, abbreviations, different initials etc.

(Compare e.g. to http://www.discogs.com/artist/...The?anv=Modrý+Efekt )

Also check out http://www.brainstorm.lv - the Latvian version uses "Prāta Vētra" whereas the English and Russian versions use "Brainstorm".

Salutaurs wrote:
Thanks loukash!

I decided to change Prāta Vētra as main artist (and Brainstorm as ANV) because of that they have used Latvian version of name for more releases and 11 years before they started to use Brainstorm.
They started to use Brainstorms as more common name for international community, but still credits the same songs to both names. An they sometimes release the same albums for both markets, local and international.

this is one of countless adult orientated schlager/easy listening LPs, most probably combined with erotic cover artwork.

wordplays and (cheap) sexual puns are what such releases are about & make for their initially strange appearance. and rightly so. ;)

I have just gone through them all in detail and left comments on all, he really should be pushed to the CIP so he takes the time to read the guidelines - if anyone else wants to vote it is now easy using "as above" since I have checked all the details and specified exactly what needs to be changed.

Edit: He seems to changing some of them now so lets give him a chance before placing any more votes.
