Articuno. I was actually agreeing with these releases being put up for removal as I believed them to be web submissions as I’ve recently dealt with the submitter iTranscendence in question.Immediately after I posted this message http://www.discogs.com/help/fo...95517?page=6#2613659 I noticed that my profile had been given a different release rating: Now it has: Rated 703 releases, average: 3.46 When before it was: Rated 686 releases, average: 3.52 I looked at my ‘View My Ratings’ and noticed that someone has ‘hijacked’ my profile to rate many Altar Records releases 1/5. I then have noticed MANY other users profiles have been used to rate many Altar Records releases 1/5 e.g. http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/1633408 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/1633431 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/2189227 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/1954832 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/1949365 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/2212409 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/2252908 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/2224331 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/2153172 http://www.discogs.com/release/stats/1814114 Articuno or whoever you are (eiko as many users are claiming you are), I actually agreed with you that they are web submissions but I do not appreciate my profile, settings and ratings being fucked about with.Electro-Magnetic edited this message 4 months ago. I haven't fucked with anything... in fact my own ratings for some of these releases were all changed to 1/5 as well. Why you'd blame that on me I don't know.

The releases I put for deletion are web subs I found when checking iTranscendence's submissions. schtel wrote:

Although I have no idea when this was done, recent or months ago? If you read my profile, I don't use those low ratings. And I certainly wouldn't waste my time voting on styles I barely understand. Too much to do on discogs, I haven't got time for this nonsense. Haze wrote:

teo will you finally do something to make this site safer instead fucking around with social networks crap and all the other shit that has absolutely no priority for any user here except for your bank account?Haze wrote:
This must have been done recently, since I didn't rate anything at all. sonnekint wrote:
Ugh. Thanks for the warning Electro-Magnetic: mine were changed too. It's about time discogs starts to look into their security problems a more seriously...

Can this 'attack' be reverted or do we have to remove these fake ratings manually?

Well, it happened immediately after I responded to your post here: http://www.discogs.com/help/fo...95517?page=6#2613572 You put up a large chuck of Altar Records releases up for removal - and I actually agreed with you that they are websubmissions as I have recently dealt with the user who submitted them. Many people, for some reason, are also calling you eiko - just take a look at every thread you post. Whilst I did not get involved in the drama back then, that user (along with his many extra accounts) also had an obsession with DJ Zen and his label Altar Records. This seems like a repeat performance, with all the profile hacks included. Electro-Magnetic edited this message 4 months ago. asylum27 wrote:

Yes agreed. Thanks for the heads up Haze. I've never heard an Altar record knowingly. This is nutsArticuno wrote:
As far as I know I've been accused of being "eiko" because I live in the same area. DJ Zen is also from Canada and sometimes plays here. Maybe I should meet them for coffee and try to sort their differences out? :P

I noticed another thing on the web subs, a whole group of the users all voted those 5/5. Could it be related? Articuno edited this message 4 months ago. abracadabra-1 wrote:

Thanks for the heads up Haze.. I didn't rate anything, how do you remove ratings? Haze wrote:
You have to go to every affected release page, then you'll see an x next to the rating. Click on it to remove the rating. Haze edited this message 4 months ago. Dads_Vinyl wrote:

I've responded to eiko, sorry Articuno's threads and viewed his profile. Has eveyone else done that as well? This whole thing is ridiculous. He claims it's his first account, yet he joined at the same time the last known eiko account was banned, found his way straight to the forums to start a new topic every other day, joined the goa forums, started pissing around with DJ Zen releases and people who are in anyway involved with these threads suddenly start getting their profiles screwed arund with. Get a life you stupid little boy. Articuno wrote:
Well are my topics bad? I like forums. Excuse me? Pissing, no. As a collector of that style of music of course I have all the Altar Records releases, especially since I've seen some of them live before in my home country. hafler3o wrote:
Thanks Haze, I have been hacked (or whatever), I went through my ratings yesterday eve, so I know this has happened in the last 12 hours, that's all.

We are already working on this as a #1 priority. In the interests of site security, rather than start a thread about loopholes like this, I'd like to recommend you contact myself or one of the other admin about it via the support form, via PM, or email. Also, please don't cast unsubstantiated accusations at other users, again, this doesn't help anyone. I am happy to reply to all private messages regarding this. Thanks! |
