Frontend Web Developer

We are looking for a web developer to take over the front-end aspects of Discogs. The ideal candidate has a good mix of skills in html, css, javascript, UX, and design.

Required
  • Fluent in HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Experience working with MVC web frameworks
  • Experience creating usable and consistent user interfaces
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Subversion)

Desirable
  • Some knowledge of Python, Ruby or PHP
  • Comfortable working with command line tools

Typical Projects would include:
  • Consolidating styles and design across the whole site
  • Working directly with other developers on the team on ongoing projects
  • Converting legacy javascript to jQuery

This is a full-time position based in Portland, Oregon.

Python Web Developer

We are looking for software engineers to write Python and Javascript code for our high traffic website. The successful candidate has experience building web applications and understands how the web works from top to bottom. Excellent communication skills are a must.

Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong experience with a dynamic object oriented language such as Python, Ruby, PHP, Javascript.
  • Experience in database programming: MySQL preferred
Desirable
  • HTML, Javascript, Ajax, jquery
  • Web APIs
  • Experience with Django
  • Experience with distributed version control systems (git)
  • Knowledgeable of various Agile methodologies and practices
Personal
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to commit and follow through on projects and tasks
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working with others in a small dynamic environment
This position is full time, salaried and includes benefits. Based in Portland, Oregon.
