I totally agree, the 'genre-breaking' Anjunabeats label never fails to deliver the very best in electronic music whether it is deep & progressive trance/house, chunky-tech trance/house, melodic-uplifing-euphoric trance, or full-on vocal dancefloor destroyers, this trio have it sewn up. They offer a fusion of ALL types and sub-genres of trance and prog. house, hence this is why they can deliver such revolutionary pieces to satisfy any EDM fans pallet.

This label (particularly for the underground trance fans) is and has been the heart of trance music for the last 2 or 3 years now, and will certainly continue to be for many years to come. There ethos is to produce and mix the highest quality of EDM possible, hence this year they (Above & Beyond) were voted number 6 in DJ Mags top 100 DJ poll - in my opinion they are number 1! I predict that they will reach the top 3 within the next two years, and expect them to be fighting out for the number 1 spot thereafter.

There is also not one release that is remotely poor in any way (including b-side mixes) which is remarkable achievement by any standards in the music industry, and even the vinal releases (which make great wall art) look cooler than David Beckham's bank balance! In fact the Anjunabeats label is so well refined and loveable that when you listen to tracks from other labels they seem comparatively weak in terms of the quailty of production, with maybe the exception of Armada, Euphonic, and the up and coming Intuition Recordings (2).

Every track produced by Above & Beyond is unsuprisingly incredible, so I would advice anyone who likes trance to also check out the work of; Nirous Oxide (2), Sunny Lax, Daniel Kandi, Maor Levi, Stephen J. Kroos, and Smith & Pledger, you will not be let down in any way! Personally I cannot wait for the special anniversary release #100, and the exclusive CD compilation avialable in the new year - bring on 2008...

Arguably the most prolific electronic dance music label around, one can only marvel as Above & Beyond’s label releases high-quality production after high-quality production. What is even more remarkable is that whilst the current output is around one release per week, as already mentioned one is extremely hard pressed to find an average one. Indeed, in just over six years, Anjunabeats has built up a back catalogue that other labels would do anything for, with some classic releases from a diverse range of producers. Whilst Anjunabeats releases can generally be characterised by high production standards and uplifting melodies, the signing of releases from artists such as Boom Jinx, Maor Levi (on the Anjunadeep sub-label) and Stephen J. Kroos has demonstrated its receptiveness to different sounds. Due to financial difficulties, many great electronic dance music labels have come and gone, yet despite its uncompromising emphasis on quality, the future of Anjunabeats looks more certain than most. For me, even with a number of high-quality labels around at the moment, none has done more for the renaissance of trance in the past few years, which is why Anjunabeats is (and indeed will probably always be) my all-time favourite label.

You really can't go wrong with Anjunabeats. Helmed by the amazing Above & Beyond, this label churns out tune, after tune, after tune! Anjunabeats trance generally has roots firmly placed in full-on melodic trance land, but does on occasion stray into slightly chunkier areas. I can honestly say that (at least for me) there hasn't been a naff release. There might be an occasional dodgy tune on one side of the vinyl, but the other side redeems it in style. Highly addictive music, on the whole!!!
