| Profile: | Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings consists of sister labels Mesa Recordings & Bluemoon Recordings. Partners George Nauful & Jim Snowden created Mesa/Bluemoon for adult alternative music in May 1989, with the support of former Mesa/Bluemoon distributor Rhino Records, after leaving Passport Records where they created Passport Jazz. Mesa/Bluemoon joined Atlantic Records in 1994 and, in 1997, Nauful made Mesa/Bluemoon a component in Atlantic's Jazz & Classics Div. Starting with jazz, Bluemoon added R&B, smooth jazz & hip-hop jazz.
