Reviews & Discussion

Review by kompressorkanonen May 29, 2004 (edited over 2 years ago)
The brainchild of Austrians-in-exile Martin "Tin" Retschitzegger and Michael "Duke" Peter, Central is an outlet for their own techno projects only, whether it's the smooth Detroit grooves of Memory Foundation, the straightforward driving techno of Ratio or the fractured beats of The Skinless Brothers. (Their housier projects such as Glory B or Hi-Lo are mostly released on the Grow! label which is managed in cooperation with Vienna DJ Jeremiah). A Central release is always booty-shakin' Techno bizniz with *basslines* and superb production, and highlights in the catalogue include the infectiously noisy "Distorted Discernment" (#9), the amazing "Zeitstation" (#10), the filtered bassbin-killer "Black Trail" (#12) and both of the albums. Awesome liveact too.
