San Francisco based experimental music label started in 1988 by Mason Jones as Charnel House, but was later forced to change its name to Charnel Music. The label's initial purpose was to release tapes by Trance, but it quickly grew to release material by other artists and released its first CD in 1990.
The label stopped operations in 1999, but was resurrected in early 2007 for the release of some CDrs.
