Circle Records was established in 1976 by Rudolf Kreis in Cologne, Germany. Records issued between 1976 and 1979 are mostly free jazz recordings, many of them recorded live in concert at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Records issued after 1979 feature groups led by Chet Baker, Archie Shepp, George Adams and Herb Geller. In addition, there is one reissue of a ReEntry record by John Fischer. The catalog numbers are the recording dates with a running number appended.
