Founded in 1998 by prolific Milwaukee artists Jon Mueller and Chris Rosenau of Pele, Crouton has established itself not only as one of the finest experimental accoustic / electronic music labels in the world, but as a devoted independent distributor of a wide variety of unique records and cd's. To date, Crouton has released many genre-defining classics by Mueller and Rosenau under their many aliases (Telecognac, Racoons, Collections of Colonies Of Bees, Pianobread) as well as their amazing collaborations with other celebrated experimental artists including Hal Rammel, Aranos, Steve Nelson-Raney, Bhob Rainey, Achim Wollscheid, and John Kannenberg. Other contributors include Scott Beschta, Jason Wietlispach, John McCoy, and Dave Gelting. Crouton has also released music by Signaldrift, Casino Versus Japan, and The Turning Test in the form of an ultra limited edition cdr.
Crouton's releases are always assembled in gorgeous, unique hand crafted packaging and are generally pressed in very limited editions. Highly recommended.
