Reviews & Discussion

Review by Solonavi Aug 21, 2008
Another one of my personal favorites, Defcom is absolutely one of the most wicked, original, and (unfortunately) ignored labels out there. Of course there's Unknown Error's "More Like You Remix" and the "Blackout" series that are musts, but if you take a look, you'll also find gems like "Far East", "No More Lies", "Mind Speed", "Worms", and not to mention the recent dubstep tracks that Leon Switch and Kryptic Minds have been putting out. The quality is always high, and yet somehow, any given Defcom release manages to balance both dancefloor impact and listenability with extreme precision and finesse that's appallingly absent in so many of the releases that are being spewed out by other labels. If nothing else, pick up the "Blackout" albums and vinyl's for your collection, but keep a close eye on the Defcom camp, you never know when they're going to churn out another jaw-dropping anthem.
