DWG – Who The Hell Are We?
Diggers With Gratitude was originally started as a blog in 2004 by Chris, Rare Dave and Sureshot La Rock (who left DWG in 2009). In 2007 DJ Shaker joined the team, and in 2010 Rich aka Spice joined to develop the U.S. arm of DWG.
The DWG 'Vinyl Goodness' Project commenced in 2006 with the well received Phill Most Chill 'Be Intelligent EP', and has continued at a steady rate.
With no funding or other people to help out, the only raw materials DWG have to work with are spare time and late nights. Even these seem in short supply when the girlfriends, wives, and children come calling. Still, with a whole lot of persistence and a little bit of luck the crew seem to manage. As stated by Chris in late 2008 "we’d have it no other way – the Diggers With Gratitude movement is next level".
Having now completed a slew of projects, including LP's, 12" EP's, 7"s, a posters and mix CD, DWG have gained critical acclaim in the press. However, none of it could have been done without the DWG Massive. What started with a few has grown to well over 500 and promises to climb in the coming years. DWG's goal remains true and their mission will never change.
