Reviews & Discussion

Allthough this (experimental) label is very popular, it's typical to see that the less experimental releases (mostly created by Endymion) are sold out a lot faster than the more experimental releases.

Because of the popularity of the label they also decided to create a 'DJ Enzyme X'. When this name is booked for a party, nobody know who will perform; it could be anyone who ever created a track on Enzyme X.

Enzyme X is by far the most progressive label I've ever seen. What started out just regular dancefloor hardcore, the label progressed into releasing nothing but industrial and experimental (ambient, IDM, glitch, etc) releases.

Every release is alot deeper then it comes off to be. Such tracks as 'Thou Shalt Consume Thyself' and 'Dissonant Poetry' aren't just a track with a fast beat and industrial sounds. They go much deeper, thought wise, mostly because Ophidian was behind the productions. The man is a brilliant artist, not just musically. 'Dissonant Poetry' contains a beautiful, intelligent, philosophical sample, which where it came from is still a mystery, if it was original or not nobody knows. While dancefloor hardcore addicts can love the releases on this label no problem, each track is much more then just music.

If for some reason you have never heard a single track off here, get on it, and listen to each one more then once.

However the Enzyme X releases mostly are defined as expirimental, the early releases on the label were expirimental at their original release date. They can be described as normal hardcore nowadays. Altough still very high quality tracks.

Musical and mental evolution ;)

I've heard some serious rumours on the latest pressings on this label from a trustworthy source, that latest Enzyme X releases are not limited to 500 anymore, but limited to 700 pieces, because of the "hype" Enzyme is experiencing since a few months.
Since Enzyme X 16 also the layout of the little vinyls and their covers changed, the next ones will be transparant and the cover changed, the logo looks like it has been broken or abused, I think it looks good.
