Now going into its tenth year of operations. At one time a baffling floodlike addition to the trance market, then some house type things with Stanley Conway, Modula Green and some other releases started including the ambient get down mix, or a drop the bpm to half type mix. All one guy with a fax machine and a cast of characters that has played almost like a whos who of electronica the heros, the how in the hell did he pull that off, the dj responsible for the love parade, the other german guy with as relentless a release schedule and bill laswell. At one point it was a flood of releases every week. A german record with no infomation other than a fax number and a pk with a number inscribed in the run-out groove in a paper sleeve, with some color label maybe yellow, green, black, blue, or red and a dot that eventually had a number, then a meaning came forth as to what the color and the dot meant. Then the plunge to the couch began with a series of brilliant relases. All limited to one pressing, beginning with 500 copies and hovering at about 1 to 2k per release these days.
Impressive to, in that these are very often one take improvisational recordings. You can imagine its a they cant all be winners type of label which isnt the point really. Its a direct form of communication.
