Festival Records (NZ)

Profile:
Festival Records (New Zealand) was an independent company until the nineties, being substantially owned, and controlled on a day to day basis by Kerridge Odeon, a NZ cinema company, whilst the Australian company of the same name was completely owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. They shared much catalogue, but not all. In the nineties News Corp bought out KO. Until that time Festival (NZ) is best regarded as an affiliated company to the Australian Company
Please note that Festival (NZ) has manufactured releases in NZ for many different labels. However this page is for the few records in the sixties and seventies branded as Festival Records (NZ) or simply Festival New Zealand. Other releases should be submitted under their correct labels, and to the Festival Records main page as per the instructions on that page.
