Reviews & Discussion

Review by md Feb 09, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
In terms of truly minimal techno, I think that only M-Plant stands up to Ifach in terms of consistency, innovation and quality. The label has a distinct sound, being mainly the product of a select few of the UK's finest - namely Peter Ford aka Baby Ford, and Mark Broom, often accompanied by Dave Hill. Other artists such as the legendary Stefan Robbers only serve to make this an even more essential label, but the sublime deep minimal sound from the UK contingent is what really makes Ifach an essential chapter in techno's history. Plaid also appear as part of Eco Tourist.

Predating the current laptop originated minimal house/techno craze by many years, these releases are, in my opinion, a far better take on the approach, both in terms of depth, originality and overall feel.
