| Profile: | M.E.L.T. 2000 evolved from the structure of B&W Music in 1996 and is run by Swiss-born Robert Trunz (the ex-chairman of the B&W Loudspeaker company).
In April 2002, M.E.L.T. 2000 went into voluntary liquidation. Mr. Trunz bought back the rights to the catalogue in December 2004, with the rights being now owned by Sound Reproductions Limited in Jersey and administered through the South African company Melt Music Phase Two cc.
An acronym for Musical Energy & Loud Truth beyond 2000, the label now releases a carefully-selected choice of unreleased and new World Music and Jazz recordings from the African continent, with the label's website boasting its own digital download shop.
