Early 90s underground techno label, owned by
Dave Clarke. Defunct.
"We all want honest, inventive, exciting music. Sounds we can keep forever, that last, that touch us every time we hear them, tunes we can trust. True music. And truth in music.
Sound and direction.
Things being as they are, this is not easy to find, we have to think and approach in a very different way.
Magnetic North is a new and different record label set up in the hope that a collection of mutually interested people will become involved, thereby creating an environment for truth in music, no competition, no inflated egos, no a&r people turning red at the mention of integrity, but each and every artiste (sic) involved supporting and encouraging the others in their work and in the common cause of getting what we all want.
It's a momentous task and we really believe it can be done by sticking to the guidelines above, and if the day ever comes when we have to compromise this in any way, that's the day we close down the label."
