Meta4 was started as a collaboration between Ophidian & DJ Ruffneck designed to give new talents and established artists with a different view on today's music a chance to fullfil their desire of releasing their music on an open-minded platform.

The first eight releases included a note on the back of each cover:

In 2007 parent company Cardiac Music B.V. decided to no longer support the label. After a year of absence Ophidian restarted the label independantly.

Releasing will resume in 2009.
