Berlin-based mailorder from the
Digital Hardcore Recordings (DHR) setting for distribution of the new paradigmatic Digital Hardcore sound and like-minded labels. Also self-manufactured tapes containing DJ mixes, live recordings and unreleased material from mostly DHR artists. Started out as "Midi War Tape Series" to become individually styled without enumeration (and sometimes in lack of label info) later on.
The first issue of "Midi War" emerged in early 1995, then run by
DJ Moonraker, later as well by
Carl Crack.
In about early 1996 it was taken over by
Joel Amaretto and relaunched as "DHR Mailorder", through which he continued to make and distribute tapes in the same fashion - see
Not On Label (DHR Mailorder Tapes) - including bootleg
DHR Tape Series unapprovedly using the label's insignia. This succeeding mailorder was abandoned in 1997 due to final disconnection with DHR (followed by Amaretto's own label and new mailorder).
