This is the legendary Darryl Payne's label and it was was active from the middle of the 80's to early 90's. Because the label was active during that period the releases have a wonderful "in between" sound of Disco and Garage House. Because of the quality of the artists and Darryl Payne master mind most of the releases sound excellent even now. The label have been totally forgotten by the new generation of US Garage lovers, even with releases from artists like Brian Keith, Carol Williams, Kleeer, Leroy Burgess & Sinnamon! Please - Remember the name DARRYL PAYNE and his label NEW IMAGE!
Touch Me, Love Me Tonight was my first single. It is an awesome single because despite the technical flaws( in terms of recording/ engineering) it allowed me to tour throughout Europe during the 80's and early 90's. Although Darryl Payne gets all the credit for it's production, it was actually Eric Mattews input that enhanced it's production and gave me a sound that wasn't either R&B or House. Garage music. It was aticipated by billboard magazine that with the right distribution the single would have been abig success outside of Europe. After " Touch Me" I went on to record several singles for New Image, but was never able to regain the abiance that was presesnt with the assistance of Eric Matthew. In the early 90's I changed my name to Bryan and recorded single for the Black Rain label.
