Profile:
Los Angeles based record label founded by Richard Bock and Roy Harte in 1952. Best known for releasing cool jazz and West Coast jazz.

The label was purchased by Liberty in 1957. Since then Liberty and it's sub-labels have fallen under ownership of EMI Group

Today Pacific Jazz Records exists in-name only via reissues of its material; the label's jazz catalog is now controlled by Blue Note.
