Planet Core Productions

Profile:
"Planet Core Productions (PCP)" (see also PCP) was founded in April 1989 by Marc Trauner (Marc Acardipane) and Thorsten Lambart (Slam Burt) after getting numerous rejections from several labels in order to get their music released.
It was only a couple of years later they decided to take control of the distribution as well since their first distributor AMV closed in 1991, whereupon the label was relaunched (hence the dually used catalog numbers among PCP 002 to 010). "PCD (Planet Core Distribution)" was called into life to handle all the business that comes with distribution. As this wasn't enough, they even opened a record store called "No Mercy Records" (later to become a label as well) at some point, but it took only a few years before they closed it down again.
In late '96 PCP transmitted their last signal from the future. Some say it was the result of a bankruptcy, others say there were musical differences between Marc & Thorsten.

Reviews & Discussion

Review by Phuture Jan 02, 2004
The label that set the standard for the harder techno sound.
Started in 1989 and stopped it's activities in late '96.
Some of the most darkest record were released here, including the Frontal Sickness ep's and ofcourse the later Mescalinum United records. Always simple but cool artwork on the sleeves, if there wasn't any plain sleeve used ofcourse. Nothing fancy at all, the usually grey/white/black colors that were used, are a good reflection of the music.
Mindtripping, dark, doomy, it's all here, with the Mover being on front, responsible for most of the tunes.
