Poeta Negra originated as a label in 90's in Thessaloniki, Greece. Up until 1999 the label made its mark through a series of sporadic and selective releases.

It reappeared in early 2000 with the prospect of a more stable, organized and dynamic presence. Throughout the 90's it captured the interest and respect of a somehow musically agile (local mostly) audience via its sparse releases.

In 2008 the label has folded.
