Label started in 1984 by Vince Lawrence, under the direction of Larry Sherman of Trax Records. For many Precision Records is considered as the forerunner to Trax Records. "Music To The Point".

Precision Records also functioned as a record distribution company.

Records with PRL (Precision Records Labs) inscribed in the runout groove or printed on the center labels were pressed at Precision Records pressing plant, owned by Larry Sherman. Some of the record labels that used the pressing facilities at Precision included Jes Say Records, House Records (3), Mitchbal Records, and Trax Records.
