UK Garage label, established 1998 by Matthew Coleman AKA MJ Cole.
Whilst signed to Talkin' Loud, Matt's contract stipulated that he was not permitted to release on other labels, including his own.
Free from said contract, January 2004 saw "Talkbox / Dawn" mark the return of Prolific, with revised catalogue numbers and fresh logo.
Up until PROPH 106, Andy Lewis (formerly of Locked On fame) was installed as the label's A&R. In summer 2005 he left Prolific to continue work with a major.
Since February 2006 DJ Charma, labelowner of Stereohype Recordings is the new labelmanager of Prolific.
He has been installed to support MJ Cole in taking care of the labels' business.
