Rainy City Music was formed in Manchester during the summer of 1996 by brothers Irfan & Iftikhar Hussain and Cyril Lyons. Brazilian guitarist Franco Ze joined a little later and this made up the core personnel of the label. The label was setup primarily to release quality soulful dance music tracks covering all types of black dance music.
