Profile:
Dave Lee's first label saw the light of the day around 1988.
Republic was highly responsible, if not the first to licence and release American house & New Jersey Garage and manage to expose it more to the British market than any other label. Garage classics like Phase II - 'Reachin', Arnold Jarvis - Take Some Time Out and a great part of the catalogue of Blaze got released on Republic.
In the early 90's, House had hit UK for good so Dave Lee decided to call it quits, move on and shut down Republic. And from the ashes of Republic Records came Z Records which Lee runs today.
