Hi Subtropix,
I've become pretty much obsessed with Kiwi music. I've pretty much exhausted Flying Nun and am ready for more. I notice you seem to know everything there is out there..I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of some stuff. Specifically, I love the Weeds..do you know of any possible way to obtain a copy--even if it's just a burned CDR and not the actual release--of the full length album they put out. I just love that 7 inch and can only dream of what the full length must have sounded like. If you have access to making such a copy onto CDR, I would be eternally grateful and of course willingly compensate you. That goes for any other reccomendations and CDRs you'd be willing to make. As much as I'd love to get and bid/purchase some of these actual releases at heart I'm a fan vs. collector of music and, of course, I need to know what I want out of all of it. So again, from one appreciator of good music i.e the Kiwi scene, I'd be forever in your debt.

It's taken me 15 years to collect the entire catalogue from Ripper records. This is the complete record of all they produced. It's attainable, it's achieveable and it's totally satisfying. Oh, there are some sleeve variations out there. But as far as contribution to the "kiwi sound" goes. Ripper Records would have to rate, right up there with Flying Nun. I'll treasure my collection, to my dying breath and convert as many people as I possibly can to this fantastic group of releases.
