Roadkill Records was started by Dave Best, Ben Weasel and Jughead (4) in 1988. Dave was a college text book salesman with a bonus to spend and was interested in starting a label. Screeching Weasel was looking for a label to put on their music, so Ben and Jughead agreed to run the label while Dave provided the financing and all three would decide on the artists. The venture was short-lived as, according to Ben, the label never made any money, and Dave eventually went broke. The last Roadkill release came out in 1991.
