Profile:
Eclectic but mainly dance music label (1981–1992) founded by cellist, visionary composer, and underground disco artist Arthur Russell (1951-1992) and William Socolov, and Juggy Gales. Its sub-label Fresh Records was founded in 1984. Kurtis Mantronik acted as its A&R executive as well as recording as Mantronix.

After closing its doors in 1992, the catalog sat in limbo until 1996 when the label and its catalog were puchased by Warlock Records, which has been rereleasing its titles with the Sleeping Bag and Fresh logos alongside the Warlock Records logo ever since. The building where the label had its headquarters was torn down in the 1990s and a luxury apartment building now stands in its place.
