Solid Records was started in 1994 in Brighton, England, by Nick Spice and Matt Consume with the intention of releasing quality Techno from fresh European artists. It has never sacrificed quality for quantity and the releases have been at best irregular, and limited in order to respect this tradition. Matt has since gone on to form Trash Records.

Solids artists have included the original U.K. pioneers of the genre such as Christian Vogel, Justin Berkovi, Ibi Alpha, Chris Liberator and more recently Mark Williams, and was part of the loose collective of No Future labels and artists that existed in Brighton up until a couple of years ago.

The label is now re-entering the dance arena with a slightly more professional attitude but not losing the original precepts of not releasing for the sake of it but allowing time to release decent tracks. We are revisiting some of our old friends and digging up new talent.

Musically we are still dedicated to the harder end of the Techno market.
