Struktur Music Company was a label based in Manchester, England. Created by Ian Edmondson - Graphic Designer, Mark Pilkington (Thought Universe) and Eddie Symons (Bovaflux). The catalogue was based around creating a limited life span label. Struktur catalogue numbers counted backwards! Starting at Seven and Ending at Zero, the idea was to keep the label fresh. Read reviews about this label and you'll see it is something they managed with ease. Each release showcased carefully chosen artists, although compilations Struktur took care to only select the finest tracks. You'll find that their compilations are worthy of the finest collections of IDM / Electronica.
Struktur never seemed to push what they did and for many are still an undiscovered IDM treasure.
The level of electronic production and architecturally enhanced graphics is an area that Struktur underscores with in-depth precision. Color-coded compilations on a label with a self termination date; The catalog numbers of Struktur releases are gradually counting down to Black Zero Zero, at which point the label will self destruct. No chance of a sell-out here!
Struktur catalogue numbers concentrated on individual tracks rather than products as a whole. So each track has its own individual number. Example: S7.12 simple means the product is '7' but the track upon the product is '12'. Easy really. The Struktur catalogue contained some very wacky items including: Graphics, Videos, an argument between the label owners, the studio cats, a number was even specified for the departure of Mark Pilkington. Here is a list of things not included in the music discography below.
S0.00CAT - Lily. The Studio Cat.
S0.02POS - Desimer Poster.
S0.14COME! - Mark Pilkington Joins Struktur
