Review by somewhereindetroit Apr 23, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Tommy Musto's great Northcott distributed Sub-urban Records label finally seems to have gone by the wayside after a ten year reign, but what a musical legacy it leaves behind. Sub-urban was possibly the best and most consistent American garage & vocal house vocal label of them all, with many of the earlier tracks in particular ranking as some of the best and most underappreciated New York house records of the nineties. Sadly, all of the Sub-urban compilations are difficult to find. Well worth hunting out if you're a fan of the Soulfuric/Sub-urban/Bassline Records funky garage house style is the 3 LP/2 mixed CD's set from 1997 entitled "N.Y. House Source", with the CD's mixed by Boris Dlugosch.
