Reviews & Discussion

Review by analogabatteria Apr 08, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
These were incredible records standing alone in terms of quality. About 12 months after the TZ1 release (which used the drums from the opening bars of the Suburbia, by the Pet Shop Boys (full horror mix)) there were wispers that this was Outlander at work. I managed to get 1 through to 12 but could not find number 6 anywhere. Fantastically pressed with no markings of origin, I have never seen one in a second hand shop. To have them in your collection was to thrill the dance floors wherever you dropped them.

Next to impossible to find when they were released initially, limited to 1 maybe 2k copies and equally obscure anonymous graphic only with nothing but a country of origin handstamp in a paper sleeve super secret style releases. I only heard of them beginning with seeing TZ4 or TZ5 in a tip sheet on Jimmy Crash's or Adam X's top ten list.
In total I only got TZ 5, and TZ's 8-10. 10 came out two ways as a white label one per shop pre-release and as a proper release. Maybe not due to a cleverly used Prince sample. If memory serves me it came out as a proper Outlander release tho. The rest I remember talking with Hyperactive back in 93 about them and he only had like TZ7 or something like that.

TZ 6 is not existent as a regular 12"!
there was 1 track released as TZ 6 on the official "Mayday" compilation from 1992,together with a lot of other classics!
the track is not that great though!
