Techno Kut Records

Profile:
Techno Kut was founded as a cooperation from West Coast Legends Unknown DJ (Andre Manuel) of Techno Hop Records and Grandmaster Lonzo (Alonzo Williams) of Kru Cut Records in 1988. The label released Sampled Techno Style Tracks like "X-Men", "Revenge of the X-Men" and "Professor X Saga" with a touch of the Detroit Sound. On a few releases Techno Kut put Dance or Instrumental Mixes as B-Side Versions, these were ahead of their time and in Y2K this music Style reached commercial success known as Technoelectro and Electroclash. Techno Kut followed a different, more technoid way then the other West Coast Labels with mainly Gangsta Rap.

electro was on a resurgence. 808's were big in 1988. these records were being played by a lot of bass jocks in detroit. pitched up and mixed with detroit electro and miami bass. techno kut releases took from the likes of kraftwerk, cybotron and early electro, and put their own stamp on the genre. dj slip, unknown dj, and professor x released classic records such as basstronic and revenge of the x-men.
