In the year 2001 Sebastian Hoff (a.k.a. Promo) and Martijn Mobron (a.k.a. DJ X-ess), friends and colleges at ID&T started their own company and label: "The Third Movement".

One of the main reasons Hoff and Mobron started their own independent record-company was because they had enough after an argument with the managers at ID&T during the release of Promo’s 6th Promo File. Because of that the licensing of the Promo Files swapped half way from ID&T to The Third Movement you will find a half and split-up catalogue for the Promo File series.

Promo File 1 - 6 are located in the ID&T catalogue (rights and licensing ID&T) and Promo File 7 – 10B at The Third Movement Label (rights and licensing The Third Movement)
Licensing of File 1 – 6 is owned by ID&T, it’s not from Promo as a lot of people think, licensing of the Promo File 7 – 10B is owned by The Third Movement. The Promo File 1 - 6 have been repressed in november 2005 and re-released on The Third Movement Label.

The label has been focussing on creative output, giving new artists a chance to experiment and test their style.

Some of the early The Third Movement releases are "missing" in the catalog listing, since they were released on other labels. Don't add these "missing" releases to the The Third Movement catalog, since they do not have The Third Movement catalog numbers.

The following releases are "missing":
T3RDM-00002 was released on Samurai Records as SAMU 023 (If I Had A R Bitch).
T3RDM-00007 was released on Bzrk Records as BZRK 026 (King Of Pain EP).
T3RDM-00015 was released on Bzrk Records as BZRK 031 (Not Down With The Standard EP).

Since somewhere around the 40th release on The Third Movement label, they changed the formatting of the catalog numbers, resulting in dropping one '0' and the dash in between. Please do not change this.
