Based in New York City, THEMA® is a multi-media record label featuring thematic works of music, art and design. Each artist exploring the full spectrum of their discipline, while generating dialogue and collaboration across geographic and disciplinary boundaries.
The project promotes the necessity for relevant artistic discourse and aims in establishing a multi-artist platform from around the world with those who share a similar vision of the future! Thema will strive to play an active roll in pursuing the growth and development of electronic music, new mediums and new grounds where ever possible.
THEMA is an ongoing art project that locates the interspatial space between art and design, sound and music. "I see THEMA as a collaborative art piece - a work in progress, transforming, evolving, and re-defining itself over time. It is a project to be seen and heard with different eyes and ears."
The power of sound and its inflicted emotions are part of the process.
An on going extension of the label is a project called "Terra Series" meaning Earth/Land in Latin. It was originally conceived under the working title "Nations". This will be an on going project showcasing up and coming and established artists from a specific county, region and/or city worldwide on several various artist compilations within Thema's catalogue.
"ReVision", another project with-in Thema's Catalogue, where we will be re-issuing some past classics with remixes by the new breed of movers and shaker's as well as past heroes. In some cases being produced over a decade ago, this will shed light on how advanced some of these tracks are and how influential they we're on today's sound. We are honoured to be able to work with some of these artists and we feel it will also give some of this music a second life within the vast bloated world of forgettable “track-of-the-month” releases. Know your past and you will know where the future is.
