It all started with a purpose: to promote upcoming young artists, songwriters, and producers who can add a new dimension to house music. In 1990, Joseph Salvador created TINK! Records (Tomorrow Is Now, Kid!), one of the first Dutch record labels to record and release house and “U.S. garage” music in the Netherlands.
While the Holland was absorbing the hardcore house music scene, TINK! focused more on the soulful vocals and disco-influenced house tracks.
The first single released off Tomorrow Is Now Kid! was Black Tulip’s soulful house classic “Jam It On”. The track received high praise from DJs across the world from the U.K. to New York. TINK! was also responsible for releasing rave anthems “NO Pills (The Roxy Mix)” by Eddy de Clercq and R.J.s Rule’s “Rave This Nation”.
The early releases from MDA, Black Tulip, Formosa, Thyone Girls, and MTC helped TINK! Records to be recognized as one of the top house music labels within the dance community.
