Toytronic

Profile:
Electronica label founded by Martin Haidinger and Tony Douglas. A lot of changes happened around Toy 5: Chris Cunningham joined the label with Toy 5, and Tony left the label after Toy 5. Distribution also changed with Toy 5 to Southern Record Distribution (SRD); the first four releases were distributed by Metropolis Record Distribution. All graphics for every release except Toy 17 done by Martin Haidinger (the credit does not appear on most of the actual releases).

Reviews & Discussion

The eleventh release on the toytronic label (Toy 11) is missing from the list. This is because Toy 11 was not a record but a limited edition T-shirt with the toytronic logo and the catalogue number "toy 11" printed on it. This T-shirt was only available for a short time through mailorder.

Toytronic is that label with relatively parallel sounds. Its qualities in sounds are best in these parts comforting relaxing and tripping… Optimistic way of putting sounds together formulating a noise that sprees you out. Master of label no arguing about is Gimmik with his distinctive sounds. A Great artist … I akin to !

I have to say, this is a very over-rated label. All the artists sound the same and use the same formula in their boring, clicky tracks. Very Gimicky (pardon the pun). It's another one of these labels that gets a big following mainly thanks to the fact that they do limited releases on coloured vinyl. Then suckers pay vast sums of money on ebay for these "rare" items, giving the illusion that the music must be great. Dont be fooled!!

I totally used fetishized this label. Your brain will come out of you ear. Be warned. However the last two releases 13 & 14 were sorely disappointing to me. They are all mellow with the exception of a track or two one contains stringed instruments! Is it now an adult contemporary label? I know the snobs love it but the drill and bass glitch was missing.
