The Ugly Bug label was started up in 1993 by Pete Bones (The Shaker). The label released a blend of funky pumping House and Progressive Trance and was a firm favourite of DJs including Tony De Vit.

Pete Bones has since gone on to live in the US where he continues to DJ and produce, whilst also running his new record label Red Ant Records.
