Uni.form Black
Houston-based Uniform was established in 2002 by the label’s
founder Jake Childs once he released a house-inspired
promotional mix CD by Sista Stroke [www.sistastroke.com],
“Soulquarian”. The release fortified the label’s efforts and
realized a vision Childs had only entertained until then.
Child's finally put his dedication, and hard earned
finances, into uni.form.
Utilizing the label as a platform to help others in the
Houston house scene and open up collaborations with other
music producers, the label’s prolific producer began working
with more like-minded musicians, producers and djs.
With a varied style, Uniform releases will be nothing but—it
covers a musical spectrum. Following a color-coded motif for
the label’s releases,
While Childs keeps pumping out tracks released on various
other independent labels, he still finds time to
consistently procreate and present unparalleled music under
uni.form that doesn’t fit your norm.
