Universal Music South Africa is part of the world's biggest record label.
It was formed in 1998 after Seagram (a Canadian liquor company) acquired PolyGram (and with that PolyGram (South Africa) and then renamed its music operations to Universal Music Group.

Universal SA has partially continued to use the STAR* XXXX catalogue numbering scheme from its PolyGram (South Africa) and Trutone predecessors.

Please use these labels for all releases prior to 1998.
