WMOT (We Men Of Talent) was owned by Steve Bernstein, Alan Rubens and David Chacker, before this group sold the company to Michael Goldberg, Allen Cohen and Jeff and Mark Salvarian. Subsequently, dental student, big-time coke-dealer & "silent partner" Larry Lavin was convicted of Money-Laundering, and the label was forced into bankrupcy, was restructured, and bought by
CBS/Sony. During different phases of the label's more active years, WMOT was a subsidiary of
Tec Records and later had a distribution arrangement with
Fantasy as
Fantasy WMOT Records.
