XP Digiflex.Rec…I have to say really sucks after releasing GZHS02. Can't understand how can anybody release a track as a remix with stolen acid line and added some snare & hi-hats simply told. Or it's just mix of tracks released on vinyl record ? I can't understand…It's nearly the same track as the original Gamble 202 - Spicy Bred of Charity part II, just a little bit edited.
But its not only this case, this label just follows commercial people demand and releasing oldschool wanted tracks played on freeparties as represses in once. It looks like they don't really care about the records, how they will look and what will be wripped on there. There is sometimes nice old tracks with different sound released together with a "nu-electro disco tracks"…Also there is a serial label pictures visage, reminding Tesco products. Seems to these guys just want to make a big money and be cool.

Before anything else; someone has really gone to the effort of opening a new account (seemingly) called 'DIE DIGIFLEXDIE' or something similar and used it to slag off XPD for reissuing records - how petty and pathetic can you get, really?

The issue of repressing records (as shown with the above behaviour) will create some backlash, but I say good on 'em; coming from a UK perspective, Stay Up Forever are doing it with their 'classics' label, Deathchant are doing it in the form of their 'Anti-Ebay Weapons' double packs - re-releasing old tunes where the originals are hard to come by or expensive to get hold of. I'll admit there was a small part of me that was a bit gutted, but came to realise I wasn't gutted that you could buy these old tunes for cheap, it was simply that anyone could buy them - the originals were no longer the only way to own that tune - so just a bit of jealousy I suppose.

The thing with represses is that it does give people a chance to get hold of 'that' tune without paying through the nose for it, and puts more revenue back into vinyl sales; surely a good thing? Also, A lot of represses aren't copies of the original record but a collection of tracks from a particular label; look at the Routemaster series - those records were not released like that originally, they've taken what is considered the better tunes from a couple of different records and put them out on one release. This means that A) you get a chance to own the records that were caned, and can replace worn copies, and B) they are missing the B-side(s) from the original release, which in many, many cases are just as good, if not better than the 'known' repress; thus making the original vinyl still well worth owning for the other material they were making at that time.

I'm happy to get the routemaster represses (and some of the SUF classics) because it means I have a spare copy of the tune should the worse happen - something again which represses are good for. The other factor to consider is that the tunes repressed are nearly always the tunes that are well-known and played throughout the years - so what if Joe Bloggs from XXXX can buy a copy - it's the same tune, heard loads of times; if you can mix these repressed tunes well / differently to other DJ's you've still got the advantage, and the tune has been caned anyway so essentially people are buying old tunes heard over and over - head for the new releases or track down some other less well known stuff to wow your crowd with rather than boring them with the same tune they've heard for the last 10 years!

Nice one XPD - I've managed to get copies of tunes I didn't own, and copies of tunes I do own at a reasonable price - so I can keep my originals in a nice condition.

So yeah - quit whining about represses - it's probably gonna happen sooner or later anyway, if you've got the original, invest in a new back-up copy if it's an expensive record, if you haven't - wayhey, get you hands on it! - and nice one XPDIGIFLEX for bringing decent tunes to the masses. :)

I am sure this will all be deleted very soon but I feel I must add my 2p.

I first came across this label when it made it known it was repressing Routemaster tunes. These were tunes I did not know existed when they first came out. I have known what they are and have been looking for them for ages but people are trying to command stupid prices of £30+ for them.

I'm certain that the guy who is angry is just so because he saw the "value" of his collection drop when they started repressing.

Having looked through the rest of the label releases, there's loads in there that I want now! I'll buy it too. I couldn't give a toss about someone else crying because of some sort of loss of presumed wealth.

Music for all yeah?

Safe!

Cheers XPdigiflex!!

Listen to me Mr No Name aka Die XPDIGIFLEX....
The first thing is i don't have to justify but i'm going to put a light on your ignorance. Apparently you didn't understand my purpose: the label's concept is not as you say a question of fucking money, but before all it's a question of love about music and a way to share it. Why to share it ? In my point of view music is there to be diffused and accessible to everybody.. It musn't be reserved only for people who have money.. When you see the price some vinyls can reach.
A new generation didn't have the opportunity to access to these vinyls, so why should they be privated of the pleasure of these sounds. For a pure music lover, music is timeless, and if it's good, let's go on.
Sometimes artists are forgotten and when i like, i want to permit them a revival. XPDIGIFLEX is not only reedition but for 80% of his references, it is one side reedition and the other for new tracks to permit artists to propose their actuality too. All this work is done between the label and the artists. And the artists are the only one to decide what they want to do with their music.
Maybe you don't know but we are not anymore in the gold age of the vinyls, and what you don't realize is you kill artists themselves with your stupid bloody messages.
Who do you think you are to judge someone you don't know ??? A sort of god...
And if you know Britney Spears personally.. You can tell her to come and see me if one day she realizes a fucking techno bomb.
It is my first and last message.. You can spit all your hate.. It's always a part of love somewhere.. :)
