Yellorange

Profile:
Yellorange Records, formed in 1998, paralleled the different styles of house music presented throughout Tony Humphries's tenure on New York radio, 15 years of performing at soulful dance clubs worldwide, and the current IMS net shows on its Web site.
Music ranged from soulful divas like Chance, Meli'sa Morgan, and Sabrina Johnston to the Afro Cuban flavor of Miguel Plasencia and the Italian sounds of Soweto Funk. These different styles exemplified the versatility of house music and of Yellorange.
Yellorange folded early 2003 as a casuality of the collapse of Strictly Rhythm, which handled its distribution, but its catalog is being revived through Humphries's new label, Tony Records.

Indeed one of the few remaining or new-formed labels (most in the New Jersey area) keeping the flag high for Class A Disco / Garage House with lots of love to the arrangements and a good ear as far as vocalists are involved and always quality dance-floor material with THE special groove and sound, that could only survive in the Big Apple's sub-urbs. You don't hear these trax often in European clubs .(Maybe in Ibiza or the Uk you might have a Classic evening or Tony Humphries as guest DeeJay for the night) It is too classic (not to say Old-Fashion) to appeal to most people in the younger generation . But for those of us who loved to dance to good House from The Disco Days on - we will always appreciate the Beauty of a Good Song , the Voice of a Diva or a Soul Crooner and a classic arrangement that takes it's time to shine a light on every production detail. What is so special with YO is that the longer the songs are running, they better and livelier they get instead of boring or repetetive . Long Live The F.U.N.K. and the GLORY of PURE HOUSE Music !
