Hitzone CDs (NL)
Dutch series of hit compilations, released 4-5 times a year. At the end of the year a Best Of 2CD is released.
The series can best be compared with the Now That's What I Call Music series. Initial volumes were released as a single disc. Starting volume 25 a DVD was included that contained most of the video clips of the songs on the CD. In 2007 the DVD was abandonned. Currently each volume consists of 2 CD's.
The series started in 1998. It marked the end of Dutch record company collaborations EVA and Magnum. Starting with the first Hitzone volume, no longer a "collaboration label" was responsible for the releases, but each release was marketed and distributed by one of the major record companies in the Netherlands.
The series replaced the following Dutch compilation series:
Now This Is Music (1984 - 1989)
The Hits Album (1984 - 1989)
The Greatest Hits (1990 - 1997)
Now This Is Music (1997, 2nd series, only 2 volumes)
And on parallel tracks:
Now Dance (1992 - 1995)
Now Dance Hits (1995 - 1997)

With volume 25 a new logo and design was introduced. This was also the first release to include a DVD.
This release came in a silver sleeve to celebrate 25 volumes. -
