Reviews & Discussion

The original mum tracks on this release are quality. The remixes are hit or miss depending on your taste. Some take the tracks in a breakbeat direction. While others choose to explore the ambient glitch idm side of things. If you are only into ambient breakbeats, you'll love about half of the cd. If you're into idm glitch, you'll love the other half. To fully appreciate this release, you'll have to appreciate both ambient breakbeat and idm/glitch. "Flow not so fast old mountain radio" beautifull serves its purpose as an intermission track. it's a fun synth break that will be accessible to both sides of the audience.

I remember buying cassette maxi singles by Depeche Mode and being really excited about having six mixes of one song and like two other oddly named tunes, they'd all have these really funny names and sounded just slightly different. Enough that I'd occasionally forget to fast forward to my favourite mix. This is like that but more expensive. Let some other person buy it first so you'll be able to find it in the used bin. Yes it's Mum, but there's like 12 to 15 minutes on this that are worth remembering. The rest of it is just poo comparitively. If you gotta have it be, patient it'll turn up used before too long.

This collection features a few welcome tracks from Múm, along with a mixed bag of remixes. Some of the mixes are fantastic (Christian Kleine), but since the remixes favor one track the disc overall sounds repetitive and redundant. "Please Smile My Noise Bleed" is overpriced but essential for fans of Múm and Morr Music.
